The WhatsApp messaging app is testing a new tool that allows users to quickly review voicemails before sending them to contacts. The feature testing is carried out for Android and iOS devices.
Quoted from Gadget NDTV, Monday, May 3, 2021, the application made by Facebook has added a “Review” button to the chat window. The button will allow users to listen to the voice messages they recorded before sending them.
Based on the WABetaInfo platform, this feature is reportedly under development and may be released in a future update. WABetaInfo also displays screenshots of testing the feature. ‘WhatsApp Review Voice Message’ is written in the screenshot from WABetaInfo, with information on the options ‘Revew’ and ‘Cancel’.
The feature is among a set of features that are rumored to be in testing and could be rolling out soon. Previously, WhatsApp was also seen testing a feature to increase the playback speed of received voice messages using one of three options – 1x, 1.5x, and 2x.
Voicemail playback speed was activated on WhatsApp for Android beta 2.21.9.4. The playback speed symbol appears right next to the voicemail which allows the user to increase the playback speed of the voicemail if the user wishes.
Another feature that is said to be under development is the chat migration option between iOS and Android. This feature is reportedly being tested for iOS, and later seen on WhatsApp for Android.
WhatsApp is also reportedly testing a 24-hour option to get rid of messages on the Android, iOS, and web / desktop apps. This option can come in addition to a feature that lets users set a timer for a week for messages to disappear.
